About The Artists

After thirty-plus years of living and creating art on both coasts of the USA, narrowing down my body of work in an ‘About Me’ feels nearly impossible. From an abandoned forest where my family grew some of our food to live, to the diversified streets of Los Angeles, I've seen and experienced a surreal sort of life- and that's what I place into my art.

Decaying bodies of animals from my childhood forest are at home next to neon city lights inspired by Los Angeles. The extant decay of mushrooms continued life cycle even on concrete and plastic. The constant observation of a million million small forest creatures and the eternal watch of security cameras. Wherever one ends, the other has already begun. 

This is where I draw from. The depths of death and vibrant life from the world at its extremes. 

Or at least. How this eye perceives it 👁️

Growing up in a forest, far from society, they developed a sense of wonder for the minutia of the natural world- and what it hides. Their art explores the many things of the forest; flora and fauna and those beings lingering in between the two.

The most recent addition to Octopuss Design, NaughtyGremleen is an artist and professional troublemaker, creator of the popular SporeMaids on BlueSky.

Cherry Falwell

A transplant to NW PA, Cherry Falwell (she/they), your favorite recovering Pentecostal, originally hails from the hills of Western Maryland. Cherry hosts a variety of shows in the area including Who Wants To Be A Drag Star, an open stage competition in Meadville, PA for up-and-coming drag performers. In addition to traditional drag performance, Cherry is a stand up comedian inspired by the comedic genius of Maria Bamford and the legendary wit of Joan Rivers. Cherry’s stand up comedy has left audiences all over the Mid-Atlantic and beyond speaking in tongues. Or laughing, maybe it was laughing.
